We had an issue where I (Unkle Bonehead) lost the keys for the Defluenced Hive account. I ended up having to start a new one. So make sure you are following DefluencedCast.
Good Ideas
- Back them up
Back them up again in a different place.
Back them up a third time in yet another place.
Print them out on paper.
Put them in a safe.
Send a copy to a trusted friend or family member.
Repeat as many times as you feel necessary.
Bad ideas
- Send them in unencrypted email to the FBI, CIA or any other 3 letter agency
Post it notes on your monitor
Bulletin board at your church, the library, or other public place
On hard drives that have a history of failing
Let your browser remember them
Open forums and message boards
Tattoo on your forearm
On your dog’s ID collar
On a refrigerator magnet in your RV.
Let Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, or another exchange hold your keys (NOT your keys, NOT your crypto)
